Communications and Digital Engagement Officer
About the Role
UNITEE is looking for a Communications & Digital Engagement Officer to strengthen our visibility, engagement and storytelling across Europe. The role combines digital communications, website management, content creation, event promotion and stakeholder engagement, supporting UNITEE’s advocacy and project activities in the fields of entrepreneurship, diversity, inclusion, skills development, gender equality and vocational education.

Based in Brussels, you will work closely with colleagues, members, partners, and stakeholders across Europe to help communicate the impact of our activities and strengthen the visibility of our network and projects.

Key Responsibilities

Communications and Content Creation
- Manage and implement communication activities across social media, newsletters, websites, and digital campaigns;
- Create engaging content including articles, interviews, success stories, videos, infographics, presentations, and promotional materials;
- Lead or support communication, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement activities for EU-funded projects and advocacy initiatives;
- Collaborate on and implement communication plans and editorial calendars;
- Monitor communication performance and prepare short reports on reach, engagement, and impact;
- Translate complex project and policy information into clear and accessible content for members, stakeholders, and wider audiences.
Design and Multimedia
- Create visual materials such as presentations, brochures, reports, social media graphics, roll-ups, and event materials;
- Produce and edit multimedia content, including short videos, interviews, podcasts, and social media clips;
- Maintain communication templates and digital asset libraries;
- Ensure consistency of branding and visual identity across designs and communication material and channels.
Website and Digital Platforms
- Manage and continuously improve UNITEE and project websites using WordPress and Elementor;
- Publish news, events, project results, publications, and other website content;
- Ensure websites remain user-friendly, visually consistent, accessible, and up to date;
- Ensure consistency of branding and visual identity across communication channels.
Events and Stakeholder Engagement
- Support the organisation and promotion of meetings, conferences, webinars, workshops, roundtables, and networking events.
- Prepare communication materials, presentations, participant information, and event visibility assets;
- Provide communication support before, during, and after events;
- Support engagement with members, partners, and stakeholders across Europe.
Qualifications
- University degree in Political Science, European Studies, International Affairs, Economics, Journalism, Communication, Event Management, Marketing, or related fields
- Interest in European Affairs, especially business, sustainability and inclusion.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience communication, marketing or design;
- Eligible to work in Belgium
IT skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office programmes.
Interpersonal skills
- You can take the lead on a task and find creative solutions to challenges.
- You can work both independently and in a team and are considerate of different cultural backgrounds.
- You can develop and articulate your own ideas.
- You can navigate stressful situations and can manage your time, work and deadlines etc.
Communication skills
- Excellent proficiency in English (fluent or native speaker).
- Clear, concise writing and proofreading techniques (English).
- Additional languages, especially French, are an asset but not a requirement.
