UNITEE- New European Business Confederation organised the first edition of its Business and Trade Fair on the 5th and the 6th of June 2015 at Concert Noble in Brussels, under the High Patronage the European Parliament and of Belgium’s Ministry of Foreign affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.

UNITEE Business and Trade Fair focused on the internationalisation of EU SMEs and the promotion of emerging and fast-growing markets, by bringing together embassies, trade promotion agencies and SMEs from all around the world. The European Investment Bank as well as the Belgian National Export Agency were among the exhibitors.

The Fair represented a tremendous opportunity for the visitors as they had access to a maximum of information on global trade opportunities in a minimum of time allowing them to make business contacts. The Fair also included seminars from the EU Commission on EU on import/export support tools as well as from the various exhibitors.

During his opening speech, Dr Adem Kumcu, President of UNITEE, reminded the participating entrepreneurs of the importance of going international: “If you want your business to remain competitive, you have to expand internationally. You have to take this risk. If you do not, your competitors will.” The speech was followed by a few words from Ambassadors and members of embassies.

During the two days, a series of seminars was offered to the participants. The seminars included: two presentations from the European Commission, one from Enterprise Europe Network and eight presentations about the different business opportunities available in some emerging countries.

During his visit on Saturday the 6th of June, Minister Didier Reynders congratulated UNITEE for this initiative which he considered as being of paramount importance for the internationalisation of EU SMEs and the promotion of international trade: “Today, we are celebrating the first edition of UNITEE’s Business and Trade Fair. I would be very pleased to be attending the 10th anniversary of this event.”
